Haru needed rescuing.

Jet was a sociopathic, hay-chewing bully.

Aang would always put the world before Sokka’s sister.

And Zuko... well, it was Prince Zuko. What else was there to say?

But Sokka remembered Yue, bound by her honor to marry a fool, determined to do her duty whether the cost was her happiness or her life.

He thought of his grandmother, who crossed the world alone, because the unknown horizon was preferable to a confining marriage.

And Katara... Katara deserved better than that.

But Sokka retained the right to freak out when she told him who she’d decided on.
