This is a reason why I'm very picky about the media I consume nowadays, besides not wanting to put more money into the pockets of white, racist, misogynistic male creators/show runners/bastards.
Same. I have no faith that a story is going to conclude in a way that doesn't drive me up a wall, so one thing I do is keep really current with whether or not I'm enjoying a show on an episode by episode basis. If the answer is no, and I'm sticking around (usually) out of character loyalty, that's often a good sign that I should just drop the show.
I wish I didn't have to be so cynical but with the creative choices western entertainment makes these days...
If only they didn't prove our cynicism as realism over and over again....
