I really hope Amy and Jake don't turn out to be one of those couples that are boring as hell once they finally get together. I think they need to draw out that storyline more, too, so I think, as you said, Amy should still be dating Teddy when Jake gets back, but she's confused about Jake so it makes her bitchy and she snaps at him, calling him an overgrown man-child (which he is) and harping on his biggest character flaw. Which would cause a lot of tension between them and prompt Jake to take steps to actually grow the hell up, and since he respects Amy's choice to be in a relationship with someone else, he moves on too... right as Amy is starting to realise her feelings for him and breaks up with Teddy.
Drama! Anyway, I don't really have a favourite pairing, though I think seeing what happens between Amy and Jake is the most interesting. Anything other than Boyle and Diaz. I kind of wish that Terry's wife and Holt's husband had more screentime and weren't just talked about a lot, so we got to actually see more of the dynamic with their respective partners.
