2020 continues to be quite a decade

I don't have anything new to say about current events - I think it's pretty clear where I stand. I went to a BLM march yesterday and I've been giving what I can to various places.

Fandom continues to be pretty quiet, in my neck of the woods. I'm waiting for the next fannish place to hang out, since tumblr is an echo chamber a lot of people left, and DW is pretty low-key. I'm trying to respond to AO3 comments and remind myself that I do HAVE a DW.

Yes it’s been pretty low key at dw. Tho I miss the gifs, at least there are icons and solid text posts.

Yeah, I'm determinedly clinging to DW but there's really a weird void. Yes, people still do fannish things on Tumblr; yes, Twitter has some of the crowd. But there's not really an enclave like LJ used to be.

i hear ya, i keep struggling to find a fandom place and also have never really felt quite ~fandomy since the long past days of LJ

LJ was a peak. I have made some great fandom friends on tumblr but I really miss the casual ease of 'i'm going to start or join a convo, and then talk with other fandom people about it.'

Nope. And it's like... on tumblr and twitter you have to build connections individually? It's like I have to call a specific person each time I want to talk to someone, instead of going to a party (like LJ was).
