"Susie follows him out of school silently, as if she's a little irritated by the fact that he's managed talk her into it. Calvin isn't sure how he pulled it off, and he tries not to look at her too much, but suddenly he can't believe she's real. It happened overnight, probably; things usually change while he's asleep, without his permission. He wanted to make up with Susie before he left town just to prove something to his mother, but now he kind of wants to take Susie with him. Though of course she'd never go. "
This fic is so perfect I don't think I have it in me to be articulate; let's just say it's Calvin and it's Susie and it's pitch-perfect and the theme and images repeat so effortlessly that you're just drawn to the next paragraph and the next and the next. I don't often squee when I reached the 'next' button but I was thrilled that I had a whole 'nother livejournal post to wallow in this story.

I also watched the pilot of Roswell, and oh my god I have to love that show for the cast alone. We have Marshall from Alias, Riker from Star Trek, Booth's brother, Jaye's father, and Jane from 27 Dresses. Also, the actress who plays Liz? Both excellent and nontraditionally pretty, imho.
