Allow me to summarize the sheriff's rambling narrative: when the shooter, Jared Loughner, ran out of bullets, he attempted to reload and a woman whom he had already shot took the cartridge from him. He had another cartridge, he put that into his gun, the spring was broken and did not fire, and then two men tackled him.
