I am really glad that this comic regarding following your dreams crossed my path with commentary because the first time I read it (sans commentary), I liked it but ended up feeling vaguely inferior, like I was bad for not throwing myself more whole-heartedly into life and, you know, having a job I don't love but that lets me be self-supporting. (Speaking of, I got to wax rhapsodic about living alone today. It's been over a year since I moved into my own place and it is still the best thing in the world.)
But on the subject of work, I had a day where I spent too much time check my emails and reading fanfic on my iTouch and was like, 'okay, Red, tomorrow you need to lock your iTouch in your glove box....at least until your lunch break' and not ten minutes later one of my coworkers was like, 'you're so busy today.' And I gave him a 'what the fuck?' look because to me that came out of the blue, and off my expression he continued, '...not that you're not always busy. But today you seemed really focused.' And I went, 'oh. um. yes, I was able to get some projects finished [true] which always satisfying.'
