Veronica Mars: Fantastic first season with one of the best, complex, smart, damaged heroines on television.

Watch the first season (which tells a complete story) and then stop, because the second season is awful and the third season doesn't improve that much. I was watching the finale of the second season and literally biting my tongue - I was watching it with a friend and he liked it more than I did and I didn't want to ruin his fun.

That said, the first season is brilliant, the pilot is amazing, the relationship between Veronica and her dad is really and loving (and he's protrayed as a smart, clever man and well, with a life of his own - no tv dumb dads for Vernoica Mars)

Watch the pilot - it's only 40 minutes, and is great television.

BSG is another great show that goes into a steep dive in the middle of the second season that it never recovered from. However, prior to that, it's excellent sci-fi with fantastic female characters.

Opinion of Caroline Julian in Bones?

Sheerest win.

I've seen the first two episodes of pushing daises, and really liked it. I watched it with my mother and we would have watched more, only life got crazy.

Toph: I see a lot of myself in Toph, especially in the first couple of episodes after she was introducted, in that, when I was her age, I WANTED to behave like that, and didn't because I knew it was wrong (and I would have NEVER behaved like that to people I had just met). The show, however, has a bad habit of siding with Toph. The Runaway is one of my favorite episodes because it doesn't flinch away from how out of control she is, and firmly sides with Katara.

However, the show has a tendancy of making Toph insanely overpowered (the metal bending worked, the sand bending didn't, because she didn't work for it at all) and never in the wrong. Fandom makes this trait worse, by acting like she'd the best thing since sliced bread and hating on Suki for daring to be kickass and feminine (I think a large part of why fandom likes Toph is that she acts like a guy, which would be great, if they didn't use that to diss Katara and Suki.)
