One of the most cherished aspects of Kakashi's character is his laid back attitude being often mingled with his absolute intensity with life . . . or more specifically with the living. He deals with the dead and the ghosts for most (if not all) of his adult life, and somehow finds the strength to have a certain vibrancy for the very things he is attached whether is is Icha Icha, his students, his comrades, or the village.
The idea of him in a relationship, ANY relationship, will result in Kakashi being a very passionate lover with or without the denial. The very best example of a fic capturing this intense aspect of Kakashi is Silvershine's Duty Before Honor and Serenanna's Dirty Deeds, with before and after the denial. Once you have him to care about anything in particular, he's set for life.
Oh man, writing this and listening to Pieces by Red after a really stressing day makes me feel that weird happy/sad feeling. I'm off to write some Marco/Rachel.
