Okay, so I recently finished Baccano! (as in, three days ago.) I've already rewatched the first episode, and am planning on rewatching the rest of it soon, if that gives you an idea of how awesome it was (It's only 13 episodes plus a 3 episode OVA).

Just to remind you how awesome this show is, here's the credits:

And now my super-spoilery reactions. Seriously, if you want to watch this show, don't read these, just go watch it right now so we can discuss.

This is one of those shows that is awesome and awesome, but you really keep watching because you know that those last few episodes, when the show cashes the checks they've been writing, is going to be phenomenal. And they were.

When the sun starts coming up, and everyone is hanging off the roof of the train... my heart was in my throat.

Miria and Isaac are beyond awesome. Normally, I don't go for the cheerful characters, but hating on them is like hating the adorable relationship between a puppy and a kitten. There is a damn good reason why anime info lists those two as the main characters.

When Rail Tracer whispers "ticket inspection" in Rachel's ear, it is both terrifying and one of the few honestly hilarious scenes that don't involve Isaac and Miria.

The reveal about Rail Tracer was beyond awesome. In any other show, Rail Tracer would be some superhuman thing. In this one, he's "just" a man.

I loved Ennis from the minute I find out she's a homunculus like Lust.

Chane is also Lust's little sister.

Rachel is the 1930s version of a ninja.

Keeping a bomb in your empty eye socket is badass.

Jacuzzi and Nice are adorable. That moment when he kisses her? For the very first time? I squeed like a little girl.

Nice's orgasmic giggle when she blows shit up? Shows us exactly how she managed to wait 10 years for one kiss without combusting into a heap of sexually frustrated ashes.

Chane's father is a dick.

Like, a massive, massive dick, and if I ever had a worry about shipping Chane with a crazy psychopath killer, the fact that he is totally, emotionally a set up took care of that fear.

"I'm the only one who can kill you," should not come across as romantic and hot as it does. And that moment where you see the struggle in Ladd's face before he picked Lau over Rail Tracer? Metal.

Trail Tracer's relationship with Chane is... truly dark and intriguing. He asked her to marry him the first time they met. ON THE TOP OF A TRAIN. WHILE THERE WAS A THREE WAY FIGHT BETWEEN 2 PSYCHOPATHS AND A HOT CHICK WITH KNIVES. He gave her a wedding dress with a holder for her knife. There is something about a man who buys a woman clothes and there is something about a man who buys a woman weapons, and he hits both of those kinks.

Speaking of the top of the train fight, when Ladd and Chane share that little 'let's team up to kill Rail Tracer' moment, and then Chane fakes Ladd out and goes for him, I cheered.

Oh, and that moment when Vino/Rail Tracer meets Czes and Rachel, it took me a minute to realize, oh, yeah, he's talking pleasantly to the woman he traumatized and the boy whose face he ground off.

Okay, the story behind Jacuzzi's tattoo? Broke my freaking heart. As did Nice's scream when she first got burned.

[Dear whoever did the subs for episode 15 and added in horrific, homophobic, anti-VLC commentary: I hope Rail Tracer grinds every bit of you apart, starting with your feet and working up.]

I finally realized, in the very last episode, that Vino/Claire/Rail Tracer was the conductor who gave the champagne to Lua in the credits.

Rachel is awesome, and I almost wish I could have seen her throw the money in the Senators face.

Czes running away from Vino screaming is understandable, smart, and hilarious.

I cannot express my love for Rail Tracer and Rachel having girl talk over pasta.

This is the first show I have ever watched, and then started to rewatch just to see how the time line actually fit together and because it is awesome enough to hold up to immediate rewatching, and actually be EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE THE SECOND TIME.
