despite the fact that most Sparks are supposed to get along like wet cats, Gil had no problem taking her advice and working with her.
Agreed. Also, the just having a man in that time period who doesn't mind playing assistant is incredibly attractive and bodes well for future happiness.
I really like Lars but think that relationship wouldn't work out for the simple reason that I never saw anything to make me think Agatha liked him that way. In a different story, he could have been her One True Love- the normal who nonetheless fights by her side (even if he has panic attacks after). I really like Lars, and think he's one of the braver members of the world, just because has an actual realistic reaction to these things, but still goes off to rescue Agatha. Agatha/Lars is kind of like what would happen if Buffy and Xander would have gotten together- interesting, but not the story that's being told.
A Spark cannot have a serious, broccoli-level relationship with a non-Spark. A simple relationship, resulting in marriage and kids but leaving each other alone most of the time while the Spark's in the lab, must be possible or the lines would die out frequently. But real connections? Unlikely.
See, I disagree with the idea that that kind of relationship isn't real connections- even with people who's jobs are things they are driven to do, such as a writer, or a cop, or a doctor, that's not the totality of who they are. For example, if a doctor and a concert violinist fell in love, they may have no idea what the other does or why they do it, but they may connect on many other levels- like both loving dogs and long walkes in the moonlight and afternoon matinees. They would probably learn enough about medicine and violins, respectively, so they have an idea of what the other talks about, but even if they ever totally 'get' why the other loves what they love, they could still have a meaningful, emotional connection with the the other person, and do way better on the broccoli test them a couple who totally get each other in the lab but have no idea how to communicate outside it. (wow that got long).
Also, when did Gil mention this? I know he was complaining about wishing he could find a girl who knew what he was talking about, but where there any other times?
even if Kaja's hints turn out to be correct and Agatha still hasn't broken through What hints where those? I thought Agatha started to brake through super-early, her uncle put a dampener on her to prevent her from doing so, and then then machine she made to find the person who stole her locket was her breakthrough machine? Am I missing hints?
Overall, the sweetest thing I think he's done is fixing Adam and Lilith. Yep, that is just about the best time ever, and Agatha is going to kiss him senseless (not that that's hard) when she finds out. Also, that action bodes very, very, ill for his future as an evil overlord. He's resurrecting someone because he didn't believe they should die in memory of a girl who's dead, he gets no personal benefit out of the project and thinks he'll get into massive trouble with his father for it.
Nope, they boy's never going to be the kind of ruthless practical madboy who can hold an empire together, especially if a Heterodyne heir is running around.
