*This is so long, I'm going to need to put it in two posts*

I like Lars, and while I never shipped him and Agatha, that was because Gil was in the picture. I was chatting with a friend about this (Gil was on my 12 people I'd sleep with/date list, and Lars was on hers) and I was going, Lars, you would have a chance with Agatha if you weren't competing with GILGAMESH WULFENBACH. I don't think it has anything to do with Spark/non-spar compatibility. In fact, I think that Gil's 'I want a partner, not a wife,' says more about him than about the rules of this world. Plus, since we've seen Sparks/non-sparks be friends, I think romance would really depend on the individuals involved.

For one thing, it would probably be fairly creepy to be in a relationship with someone you first kissed when you were pretending to be your mother and they were pretending to be your father.

As opposed to the total non-creepyness of being in love with the son of the man who had sex with and/or was in love with your mother? I actually had one moment reading GG where I was like, 'are they going to reveal that Gil and Agatha are half-siblings?' (and boy was I relieved to know that wasn't so- although I'm super-curious about who Gil's mother is.)

I thought the benevolentness of the machine was because she'd already broken through as a very young child (the scene with the humming) and her machine was fairly harmless because she's not completely new and/or she's a heterodyne and they're special. ^_^

Winning over your girlfriend's parents is always a good step in a relationship.

True. Plus I have the feeling that Adam and Lilith knew Klaus when he could have turned good, so they won't just assume that he's going to fallow in his father's footsteps. (I actually would really love to read some good Judy/Klaus gen fic- upon reread I thought it signifigant that she was who Klaus recognized immediatly after no seeing her for eighteen years).

the bit about melting England into slag and all that was, in a Sparky way, gooshier than any Valentine's Day card.

That scene is what got Gil onto my 'list of people to sleep with and/or date.' After I read it the first time, I posted about Gil and how awesome he was. (And did you notice that he spent that scene wearing the ring he'd given Agatha? *swoon*)
