Every so often, I'll read an article on how leather coats are evil and kill animals and it's as bad as fur and so forth, but thinking about it? Leather's just efficient. The animals you get leather from would be slaughtered for their meat anyway; it's just making use of inedible bits. Entirely different from animals raised for no purpose other than to skin 'em.
