I have to agree with your number two, especially in cases where it seems as if the creator hates them and they come out on top anyways

I love Sci-Fi/Fantasy too :o) Definitely my favorite genre of media.
It's a shame about those pesky legal ramifications, because I would LOVE to read a book about badass ladies <3 There are so few of them /cries forever
