Buffy (I was fourteen) was when I discovered the internets and that there was a word for the stories I'd been telling in my head (fanfic).
Thankfully, I wasn't tech savy enough to know how to comment in a lot of places and it wasn't until later that I discovered livejournal.
By that time, however, I'd spent enough time in fandom to know how to behave politely, which I am really grateful for.
And I'm grateful that I never had the temptation to post my horribly ooc Buffy fanfics (like, I knew at the time they were ooc, that's how bad they were) were other people could see them, because I wasn't sure how one went about posting stuff online.
