So, my school outdoor center had an excursion to go berry picking today. An excursion they neglected to tell me was high in the cascades.

It was glorious.

Now, I'm not usually one to be still or zen for long periods of time - I get bored easily, but today, I truly felt like I was communing with nature. The area I was in ( a little bowl of land between two peaks with a river in the center) was so gorgeous that I couldn't put my head down and pick berries - I was just staring at the landscape around me.

Now, because I had no idea where we were going when I dressed this morning I didn't dress NEARLY warm enough. If I hadn't been able to borrow a windbreaker and a pair of gloves I likely would have died of hypothermia. And I nearly turned my ankle three times on our several hour hike (were lead us to an insanely perfect view of Mt Baker). After the school week + getting up at six + the long day, I'm insanely bushed, and will be turning in when I finish this post.

In fandom news, my thoughts on the second HP book are here.
