First Line: Rosto had told himself that being his lover would give Beka advantages in her line of work, and that he was the one who would need to be more careful. As Beka's blood dripped down his wrist, he was confronted with how very, very wrong he was.

Last line: Goodvin shoved him against the wall, leaned close. "The next time I see you, I'll take your damned ears myself."

Why I almost didn't post it: I worried that with Beka off-stage most of the time, the relationship between her and Rosto wouldn't have the weight it needed.
