Sweetness, I Was Only Joking

gacked from [livejournal.com profile] boosette :

Give me the title of a story I've never written, and feedback telling me what you liked best about it, and I will tell you any of: the first sentence, the last sentence, the thing that made me want to write it, the biggest problem I had while writing it, why it almost never got posted, the scene that hit the cutting room floor but that I wish I'd been able to salvage, or something else that I want readers to know.

(Bonus points if you do not specify a Naruto fic I did not write. Internet cookies if you choose some of my more obscure fandoms. Not that you have to, of course. If we only have one big fandom in common or you really want to hear about a fic I didn't write in that fandom, it's totally fine.)

"No Good Deed"- No Rest For the Wicked

Can I just say, there is so much love for this webcomic and your story was just so nice since the series has been discontinued/gone on haitus (understandably, but still, seeing these characters again just makes me happy!)

I just love the Cat and November. They are too cute! But my favorite part was your mention of the girl with no hands. It was nice to see a (semi) outsider's perspective on the characters, and while not something totally new from you, something I haven't read in a while.

First line: November slept like the dead the morning before her wedding - in fact, it took three handmaidens, a drum, and a bucket of water to get her to wake.

Last line: The Cat licked into her mouth and the world spun around November in perfect synchronicity – until the wound on her side reopened and her legs buckled, a sailor in the crow's nest shouted "warship approaching!" in a panicked voice and it started to rain.

The biggest "problem" was rereading the entire comic so that it was fresh in my mind.

This almost didn't get written because I was afraid my homage to The Princess Bride would slip right into plagarism.

*applauds* I love No Rest for the Wicked and I really need to go back and catch up/re-read one of these days.

Me too. But I'm going to wait a while longer until I forget most of it, especially considering it's unlikely to be continued.
