I watched the finale of Dollhouse the day after it aired and loved it.
·I was really surprised that Joss actually wrote in an 'happy ending' option. I was sure that we were going to have post-apocalyptic ending with no joy. Because we know how much Joss hates joy.
·I love little girl Echo/Caroline.
·Watching Echo and Ballard work together was really fun but I kinda wish we could have seen him falling in love with her again. As it stands, him losing his emotions in relation to her was kind of a plot hole.
·It was fantastic to see Adelle with long hair again. And her and Priya homesteading with Priya's love child was perfect. And it is so Dewitte that even after the ruin of everything she ends up in charge.
·Victor rocking the road warrior style was great and I thought the way they broke him and Priya up make sense... as did the way they were brought back together. "I'm Anthony, but you can call me Tony."
·I don't get the whole Alpha thing.
·I did not expect Ballard to die, and Echo's break down afterward was fantastic acting on Dushku's part.
·Adelle and Topher made me go 'awww so much.' It's amazing to think about how much sympathy I feel for him now versus in the beginning when I wanted him to die in a slow fire.
·Honestly, I think giving Echo a head!Ballard was more cruel than kind. Sure, it probably helps for the year she's go nothing to do but wander around and watch Priya and Tony and Te, but what about afterward? How is she supposed to form a relationship with someone who's not dead later?
Also, I got a chance to watch the unaired pilot, and I am so sorry that it wasn't what aired. Yes, it was too slow, but the Dollhouse it presented was a morally ambiguous entity with a fantasy rape "subtext" reduced by about 95%.
