1. When I started shipping them
Pilot. He touches her arm.
2. What I think their challenge is
They're both in love with their pain and unwilling to admit their feelings.
3. What makes me happy about them
Mal! Inara! They way they contrast and challenge each other!
4. What makes me sad about them
THAT WE NEVER GOT ANY FREAKING RESOLUTION.
5. What moment I wish had never happened
N/A
6. Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other
No one, honestly.
7. My happily ever after for them
Inara continues to train companions and/or finds a political job SHE wants, Mal continues to be a pirate capitain.
