I remember you being pretty ticked off when Sven and Faye crashed and burned. And though I agree that it wasn't at all kind that he cheated on her, I remember thinking that - really - it was *Faye* who set herself up to be hurt by creating expectations on sand. Sven had never promised monogamy (and in fact kept insisting that he wouldn't commit), and didn't have to tell her about it. But he did, and I think that was probably the straightest that he'd ever played with a woman before. I still expect that he'll be the one with the most regrets in the end.
As for Marigold... oh gosh, haven't we seen this scenario in real life? Shy, nerdy girl, somewhat socially inept) who crushes HARD on the first guy to give her some positive attention. (Again, she's the one building up unfounded hopes and expectations, too.) And yeah, I read Angus's relationship to her as more friendship than reomantic.
