In The Same Way That Zutara Is Canon, IPS Is Badly Acted

Which is to say, out of context.

So, I saw five minutes of IPS at the gym about a year and a half ago - the scene in 2x01 where Mary is basically having a break-down and walking across the back alleys of Albuquerque and Marshall is following her and telling her to be like a river + when Stan smacks down the new secretary, and thought that this show as terrible and badly-acted and that Marshall was kind of fugly.

However, when you realize that this is Mary's reaction to being kidnapped, almost raped, seeing a guy murdered, shooting someone, and then having one of the worst family fights to ever be filmed, it makes total sense.

Speaking of the finale, sweet Jesus. In any other show, the penultimate episode would have been the finale, and I actually really, really liked it. The finale episode of season one, however, was literally painful to watch. Everyone was being so awful, especially Jinx and Brandi, and the fight just went on and on and on.

The one bright spot was Raphael. The whole scene with him coming over drunk was adorable, and the way it played makes it believable to Mary would be able to actually listen to what happened between him and Brandi. Also, him getting rid of the drugs was A++.

I love the acting on IPS. What I've seen of it, at least: I've seen a lot of episodes but disjointedly and out of order. But I do, a lot, and I'm fairly pick about acting, having done it myself.

Me too! All of the actors can pull off both comedy and drama with utter believability. And some of the lines and the line delivery.... AT LEAST once an episode my mom and I have to pause so we can laugh.
