She didn't seem to realize that what she said probably added to Simon's insecurities. I loved it from a story point of view, though. The writers gave them conflict without it being just for the sake of drama.

I had the exact same reaction and I loved it for that reason as well; it was drama that needed to happen and was just so inherent to the characters.
