Have I mentioned that I love Derek Reese? Because I do. I love love love him. He's just so freaking blunt and steady and responsible and his shoulders are possibly proof that god exists.
I love him so much that I feel guilty that in a show chock-full of awesome, awesome ladies (especially Cameron!) I have enough love to spare to love him as much as I do. It doesn't help when a Cameron-centric episode ("A Self Made Man") was kind of blah, excluding the knowledge that Cameron made a friend! All on her own! And brought him donuts! And the Derek-centric + badass teenage girl had:
–said badass teenage girl
–a connection with people we know in the future WHICH IS LIKE MY CRACK
–DEREK'S SHOULDERS
–Pay-off for Derek and Jesse's 'meet suicidal.' And how much to do I love that the think that almost broke him after years of battle and trauma and strife was the bunker full of dead bodies? So much.
Speaking of Jesse, I liked her way more in this episode than I have in episodes previous. I think part of my problem with both her and Riley (who I still do not like, and doesn't even have the benefit of an adorable Australian accent and a sexy, sexy, beauty mark) is that they feel pretty solidly anti-Team Conner and I am ALL about Team Conner.
