I have to admit, more of my ships lean more towards 'dirty!wrong' than 'functional.' I have a few exceptions (Elena/Stefan springs to mind) but they're rare.
I think sometimes, it's the tragedy and the could save you/ could damn you, kind of thing. Like this irresitable carcrash of two people trying to relate.
This is a great way to describe it, and illustrates what makes the relationship so dramatic and so appealing.
But I don't like glamorized versions of my ships. Like...I don't want certain things and aspects of it written as romantic or...you know?
I do. I hate it when writers (fan or pro) forget about the history of the character and who they really are.
