SG-1: I Would Love This Show So Much If They Just Had Less Morals

SG-1 "The First Commandment"

Okay, so I actually think it was neat story telling to have Carter's ex-fiancé be the crazy lunatic in this episode.

The "No, sir," exchange was funny, and I really liked the conversation between Daniel and Sam - very astute, I liked what they were saying, it fit their personas to be analyzing this. (Although, one night and Sam completely flips her position from 'he couldn't do this' to without a doubt 'he's doing this'? What was up with that.)

However.

WHY THE HELL DID WE NOT SEE THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN O'NEILL AND CARTER ABOUT HER LOVE LIFE? SERIOUSLY! WHEN DID THEY SIT DOWN TO CHAT ABOUT THEIR PREVIOUS BOYFRIENDS/GIRLFRIENDS AND WHY WAS IT NOT FILMED?

I totally would have traded that scene last episode with them rolling around on the bench and Sam in that tank top.... okay, no I wouldn't, but maybe they could have started the ep with Sam and Jack having a beer together and this conversation, so the next episode the fact that she had an ex-fiance didn't come out of left field? Just a suggestion.

"We should have stopped her."

"We would have failed."

Have a mentioned I really like Sam? She has a total heroine complex, and doesn't... okay, it's not that she doesn't see the cosequences of her actions, it's that she sees everyone was worthy of being saved and isn't going to wait around for a moment that might be more oppouture for her personally. And while I do love the manipulative, thinks everything through three times types, I love how straight-up heroic she is. She's  more into the saving people thing than any of the others are.

Although - fucking A, don't pick up the gun if you're not willing to use it! Shesh. Way tot toally give him your power. And if you didn't want to kill him, what about a nice leg wound, or bashing up upside the head? Seriously, people. Nonfatal bodily harm is your friend.

"I generallly remember one commandmant - I think it's the first-"

"'I am the Lord your god and you shall take no other god before me'?"

And okay, I get the point about not-killing being good, however, have we forgotten these people are soldiers? They (should) have been trained to kill, and I personally would find it a much better statement to say, 'look, you were in love with the guy, you thought he was going to be with your forever, and even though you broke up with him, those kinds of feelings leave marks. Wait till the next time this happens - then i'm sure you'll be able to kill your ex-boyfriend or whatever.'
