In Which I Throw Myself On My Flist's Mercy

After The Avengers, I am completely in love with Natasha Romanoff - what comics would you recommend I read? Besides the Winter Soldier arc, which I heard has a lot of Natasha in it.

Also, could some skilled soul make this image into an icon for me? Hopefully without the terrible green screen?

I loved Marvel Max's "Black Widow: The Things They Say About Her" about three or four years ago, when i first read it. I always meant to pick up the rest of the series, but got distracted by other things. It was my first introduction of Natasha, and I loved her.

I should probably find more of the series...

Um. Lemme dig for Widow stuff. The user I know who was basically the expert in Tasha lore is now off LJ. But she gave me a bunch of stuff a few years ago. I'll see if I can give you good stuff to read.

Ooh, who's the pretty lady?

Yeah, I had the same need after the movie. Just check this out (http://bigdamnsuperheroes.tumblr.com/post/22793401237/black-widow-masterpost-i-hit-500-followers). I just finished Deadly Origin and I'm reading The Things They Say About Her. I remember a little bit about her from four years ago when I was reading the Daredevil issues that she was in, but I don't remember much, so I'm catching up again.

I love her so much I doodle her name in Cyrillic in my notebooks.

Okay, that's mostly cause I'm trying to teach myself Russian at the moment. But also love.

Regina Mills from Once Upon a Time, played by Lana Parrilla.

That is awesome! Thank you!

[identity profile] redbrunja.livejournal.com 2012-05-14 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
That's definitely love! Do you also doodle hearts & bullets?

And I am going to be downloading ALL OF THAT.

I would LOVE it if you could give me Daredevil: The Widow. intrikate88 linked me to a masterpost of Natasha comics, but I didn't see that one there.

but I have some problems with his darker re-interpretation of Natasha.

Two words to this: FUCK and YOU.

I would also love the Greg Rucka Black Window stuff - and I cannot tell you how excited I am that Rucka has written some Black Widow comics - I adored Gotham Central a lot.

As was said above, Lana Parilla. It's a particularly impressive photo given that the actress (and the make-up department) were able to make the actress literally look ten years younger for a flashback episode.

Thank you! Also, fyi, I got linked to a masterpost, so I don't want to put you out if someone else has already uploaded.

Stay away from Ultimates. She doesn't even resemble herself. And it involves a couple of extraordinarily terrible scenes between her and Clint. Both of which were...kind of some of the most disgusting things I've seen in comics. Ever.

Other than that, I am also interested in learning more about her backstory and seeing some BW centric stuff.

And I love that expression Regina has in that pic. She has no idea what's coming.

Oh wow, I did not recognize her AT ALL! She looks sooooo different.

THAT DRESS. ♥ I can't wait to see it onscreen. (I'm behind the OUAT fandom because they only just started airing the show in my country.)

Cool! That's probably more extensive than what I can dig out.

Also, re: stuff below: UGH. Devin Grayson. UGHUGHUGH.

And in comics... that's a damn high bar.

Lamb to the slaughterhouse, where she becomes a wolf.

I just downloaded the Daredevil arc, but media store is telling me I don't have permission to access the Rucka/Grayson run.
