Unfortunately, I think that's why some of his shows got cancelled when they did. T_T; THE WORLD STILL IS IN IT'S "GIRLS HAVE COOTIES" FAZE. IT NEEDS TO GROW UP.

To be fair, i don't think that's all of it - there were concept (and sometimes network) reasons for why Firefly and Dollhouse did so poorly, and frankly I don't know how Buffy and Angel can't be considered huge commercial and critical successes.
