and probably my second favorite. I love that the girls have such great backstories and drama, and stories associated with that, they're not just there.
Agreed. I also think that in a lot of ways, the girls get THE BEST and most relatable and nuanced back stories. Robin doesn't get the character arc that either M'gann or Artemis gets, Kalduar gets one or two episodes, Superboy was made to be a weapon and rejected by his father figure but the resolution of that happens off screen. Wally has a nice growing up arc, imho, but his gf, on the other hand? Gets an epic arc about turning about from her parent's choices, forging a new path, building a family then taking the risk of trusting them with the truth. AWESOMENESS. And then M'gann gets a long term, epic characterization arc that involves purposely forming her identity, being afraid of her own powers, MISUSING those powers, and I'm going to assume, learning for her mistakes and becoming a better, stronger, more ethical superheroine.
For a show that started about dudes being annoyed that their mentors weren't giving them enough respect, it sure turned into the badass ladies show!
(Admittedly, we haven't seen more than one or two episodes with stuff about Zatanna, but still.)
