nd how one reason why it was so awesome is because the expectation is that Uhura is going to get together with Kirk. From the beginning, that's the expectation. Then it doesn't happen and neither Uhura or Spock are defined by their relationship to Kirk. That's what I wanted for Sif. I didn't want her to be defined by her relationship with Thor.
Agreed. As a side note, having to watch Kirk and Uhura hook up or have cliched banter and UST while Kirk sluts around was one reason I actually did not originally have much desire to see the movie. YOU CAN IMAGINE HOW DELIGHTED I WAS TO BE WRONG.
