I didn't get the vibe of "now we're all friends" so much as a man who, as a polite and smart person, is going to get along with (as in not cause fights with) his girlfriend's family members.

I just kind of feel like there isn't a point to mentioning it unless the writers are being sincere about it...?

I would be interested to see Gig and Lydia interact though it would probably be awkward because Gigi at least would know what horrid person they had in common. But if that was out of the equation. They are not exactly super alike but both are "energetic" so it might be entertaining.

I love the idea of Gigi and Lydia hanging out together and being friends.
