They really made her into the kind of epic hero we read about in mythology; and I love that she's a feminist symbol whose pain and growth aren't gender-specific but mean so much more because women aren't given those stories.

Slow clap. Also did you see the comment (I think it was on tumblr) about how Xena wasn't moving through the world as the sole female? That there were other epic female heroes and villains as well? Because that was a great point, and so true. More female villains with the same dynamics as male villains!
