It was my first time actively participating in a fandom, and I was younger. I was more concerned with wild theories about who Gil's mom was, paying too much attention to turns of phrase, and trying and failing not too sound like an idiot on the e-mail fan group I was in. I don't remember when I stopped minding the thought of Gil and Agatha eventually ending up together, probably around the time he was showing off the mechanical orchestra. I'd be ameniable to them staying good friends, or hooking up at this point.
