The Animated Series is definitely what gave me my original Selina love. I love all her eps and Kevin Conroy, who voices Batman, is still my favourite Batman today. He does a great, subtle job of switching between Bats/Bruce.
Same! Hearing how good Kevin Conroy is really made me understand why people disliked Bale's batman voice so much.
(he just makes me want to punch him when he interacts with Steph)
PREACH.
When Anne accepted her Oscar for Les Mis I pretended she was accepting for Selina (musicals aren't my thing though she is a fantastic singer too). Her Selina was more than I could have hoped for.
Ha! Yeah, I like some musicals but there was a scene in Les Mis when I was just like, 'Wolverine and Catwoman are singing together!' Not what the director wanted, I'm sure.
Selina I buy. She wanted a fresh start and I don't see her living a boring life after that. It was honestly refreshing to see them get a happy ending.
This is all true. I remember on rewatch, when she's pissed about Clean Slate not existing, I had that thought that 'oh, this makes her ending make more sense.'
I don't understand how anyone can love Bruce/Talia. She doesn't get him at all and wants him to be something he's not and err... I guess he likes her 'cause she's hot? Do not get that pairing.
It doesn't help that NO ONE has ever written a Talia that makes sense for a narrative pov. I mean, in the DKR you can sort of just go 'well, she's evil' but I wanted SO MUCH MORE with her and Bane and their relationship, and I thought her death scene was really weak.
Also the parallels between Max from Dark Angel and Selina always amuse me since they're two of my fav fictional ladies of all time.
Max is SO damn awesome, and I feel like she is a total narrative daughter of Selina.
