Okay, it’s time for something new and different. Something you would never expect from my livejournal.

We are going to spend some time focusing on dudes.

That’s right. For this meme, you are going to ask me questions about people with penii. (Or who identify as male.)

And we’re going to wait and see how often the only thing I have to say about them relates to the ladies in their narrative.

And then I’m going to ask you questions about guys.

This was prompted by a conversation I had with qualapec where I was mentioning that all my 5 things answers were basically ‘four ladies and the obligatory dude’. (Much like your average action flick.).

And that I do not use my awesome icons of guys enough.

And the fact that just typing up this meme made me smile insanely.

Yeah, a Tim that works regularly with Helena is hard to reconcile with someone who is COMPLETELY unable to see where Jason is coming from. I mean, I kind of give Tim a pass, consider that Jason kinda beat the shit out of Tim when they first met, but Dick and Barbara being unable to see the complexities of Jason (especially Babs, who has a comment in Bird of Prey where she's talking about how she and her team took down a druglord and crime went up) is bullshit.

Bruce's view on what Jason does comes from a place of narcissism -- because Bruce knows he'd get off on it and take it too far, he thinks Jason does too, and in doing so, misses a fundamental part of Jason's argument. And no one else takes it to task, all for the sake of propping up Bruce as the bullshit hero.

ON THAT SUBJECT I just read Cassandra's arc with Shiva and got to the part where Bruce is completely in denial about the possibility that Cassandra could have killed someone and be the ethical, controlled vigilante that she is and I wanted to claw at my computer screen in frustration. Just because you ARE AFRAID that you've got spree-killer inside you waiting to come out, it does not follow that Cass does. And it's so clear - SO CLEAR - that Cass is just a straight-up BETTER PERSON than Bruce is, and it just drives me crazy that he can't see it. (The student's job is to surpass the master.)

Also, the whole 'Natasha Romanoff has the same superpowers as Batman' has been going around tumblr and while one part of me is like 'fuck yeah, defending the awesome Black Widow to whiny geek-boys' another part is like, 'NATASHA FUCKING ROMANOFF COULD CHEW UP BATMAN AND SPIT HIM BACK OUT IN LITTLE HYPOCRITICAL PEICES. SHE IS SO SUPERIOR TO HIM THAT COMPARING THEM IS AN INSULT TO THE LEGENDARY BLACK WIDOW.'

I would love to see the Bruce who crosses the line. Who goes on a killer spree. Who totally loses himself and his mind and every fucking thing and the Red Hood has to track him down and Bruce is just like "this is what it's like for you, huh," and Hood is just like, "no, it's really not, you sad fuck," and then puts a bullet in him for the good of all.



That would be even more insanely satisfying than that one Jason-kills-the-Joker fic that you wrote.
ALSO, did you read the issue with Bruce and Jason after Damian’s death? When people described it, I thought they were exaggerating about how awful Bruce was to Jason. BUT NO.

I have pretty much never read or watched a Talia that I bought 100%, even in Lost Days. But considering pretty much everything her wiki page said had been established before (and what I saw of her interactions with Jason), I cannot buy her turning on her son.
