The more I rewatched CotBP, the more I loved James, who was such a perfect example of the steadfast navel officer, so noble and stalwart, and clearly loved her, and ended up letting her go gracefully. (What they did to his character was a large part of why I didn't like the second movie, and I can't believe all the people who thought he was sexier gunked up than in that spiffy wig and uniform.)
