Plus, having a Muslim Ms. Marvel means that writers and artists should be way more conscious of how she's portrayed; not only will Carol's promotion not be unmade, it means that the Ms. Marvel name will likely never be nothing but boobs and an ass again (and if it is, it would be a Bad Idea).

Agreed. I love how it solidifies that Carol is CAPTAIN Marvel and I am all over lady legacy heroes. Plus, as much as I enjoy Carol's old outfit, I think the new Ms. Marvels (from what I've seen, and I'm not sure if that was official images) her outfit is functional, feminine, and modest.

Also, apparently the writer they tagged for her lived and worked in Cairo for years and ran an anti-establishment magazine during Mubarrak's reign? Which is just badass beyond all measure.

Badass beyond measure is right!

I thought that after pushing for representation of women/queer people/poc, and then after some of those books were cancelled, like Fearless Defenders, they would backslide into traditional comics dudebro bs. But they haven't. What's amazing is that instead of backsliding based on what sold and didn't, they are trying new things with women, queer people, and POC.

God marvel.
