I've Been Trying To Do It Right, I've Been Living A Lonely Life

So, there was some grade-A shippy tropes going on with Slade and Shado, wasn't there? Huddling together for warmth, Slade asking Shado to leave him behind and Shado refusing...

The rest of the episode was enjoyable and everyone looked freaking gorgeous in their coats and hats.

I wasn't surprised, but I was rolling my eyes over Oliver sleeping with Summer Glau's character. Oh, Felicity, you deserve better than Oliver. I really hope Arrow doesn't start circling this place where Oliver sleeps with other women, Felicity is hurt, and nothing every changes. (I want Felicity to sleep with other people, Oliver to be emotionally hurt, and Felicity to rebuff his first few advances, because she's a smart girl.)

Admittedly, I ship Oliver/Felicity less than most of fandom does (I ship them in the OT3 far more), but I didn't have a problem with the Oliver sleeping with Isabel part. For all that there was that end scene, Felicity and Oliver aren't together and SHOULDN'T be together, not for a long time. Oliver's not wrong about thinking that he's not in a place where he could be in an actual relationship.

As for how they develop the relationship in the future, I'm flexible, but I would definitely like it to include Felicity having a life outside the Arrowcave. They did that for Digg in this episode, it's time for Felicity to get that development too.

This episode was okay? But I didn't get why Oliver felt the need to make that little speech at the end to Felicity. Putting aside my shipper goggles, I could see Felicity being upset over Oliver sleeping with Isabel because she's part of their circle - it's not likely Felicity would care if Oliver hooked up with someone Felicity didn't have to work with on a daily basis. I was more annoyed at Isabel's insinuations about Oliver/Felicity - I get where she's coming from, but the way she just marginalized Felicity to Oliver's hook up was really discouraging.

Oh, Felicity, you deserve better than Oliver.

Well it's likely she's going to, soon ;) And then I'm all there for Oliver not being prepared for Felicity having a boyfriend.
