PARTY POST TIME!

lbd squee

I'm chillaxing at my apartment this new year's eve. I'm not quite bold enough to attempt burned book nails (although I would love to PAY someone to do those for me). But I AM painting my nails (toes: OPI's Teal We meet again, fingers: NYC's Charming Rose Creme) and I'm going to watch a movie (Disney's Atlantis: The Lost Empire).

If you're also in this evening stop on by! All comments welcome!

Wine and solitude can be excellent paired together, it must be said.

I finished a couple of leftover Christmas movies because I'm a completionist! I listened to a little music while eating some ice cream I'd been saving with a banana. Then I spent money on a game (The Path, a short Red Riding Hood horror game) and on an ebook of women-centered scifi stories (The Other Half of the Sky). Both of which I'd wanted for a while.

I'm going to get back to reading a book of poems soon! After rereading Becoming the Villainess, I got the author's more recent book on fairytale heroines.

Nice! And I got Becoming The Villainess for Christmas, I might check out the author's nonfiction as well.

I'm so glad you got it; it's a wonderful book! The book I mentioned is called Unexplained Fevers, and the first two poems here are from that collection: http://www.pirenesfountain.com/archives/issue_13/poetry/gailey.html

Yay for staying at home on New Years! I've done New Year's Eve "out" in the city and I've done it at home/at a friend's place, and at home is SO MUCH MORE FUN. Plus we can see fireworks from our living room, so why bother leaving the house, really? ;)

Look, if you can see fireworks from your living room, leaving the house is a CRIME.

Happy 2014! I spent the night in, too. One of my college roommates is in town, so we hung out and played cards and built a New Years blanket fort. :P
