Tony really should be younger than the rest of the cast AND already in college; if he’s in HS with them, he should be class president who’s always getting detention, Pepper is the vice president/treasurer who gets all the work done.
Thor and Sif are playing whatever violent sport the author chooses; football, hockey, lacross, rugby, etc.
Steve can really fit in anywhere – the theater dept., the art department, student council, on the same sports team as Sif and Thor.

After his parent’s death in a car crash (his abusive, alcohol father at fault), Clint bounced around the system and went through some pretty bad foster homes until landing in a decent one, which is when he meets Natasha. He’s kind of a loner, excluding Natasha.
Natasha is were a lot of people screw up, frankly. To me, it’s vital that Natasha was abused *for a purpose* and that she is both mentally acute and physically can take care of herself. The only time I’ve been moderately happy with a HS Natasha was the fic that had Natasha raised by the Russian mafia before the story begain. So that’s kind of what I default to with her in AUs.
