That happened to me a couple of plot bunnies ago. It was very annoying! I was all "This was supposed to be a nice, little 3K piece, and instead I am at 10K and you are NOT IN BED YET, OMG!"

The readers really like it, though. So. There's hope yet. ;)

I just read this, moved on, and then came back to it because my sleepy brain told me LJ now had a Like button :)

And broom cupboards are excellent plot-devices. Where sex is the plot, but 'sex-devices' just sounds too suggestive.
