Yeah, a lot of contemporary poetry is really abstract, which can make it hard to follow the train of thought. Those look cool, though, thanks for the recs!
So, I'm really sick of the Arrow fandom at the moment.
Either in reviews or fanfic, the Olicity shippers seem to be harping on one particular point - Felicity's reaction to Oliver and Sara getting together in 2x13.
Personally, I think it was stupid plot twist, but mostly I was thinking, really? Again? Like the writers can't come up with anything new. Oliver isn't perfect, and he keeps making stupid choices in his personal, but the whole point of the show is for the audience to see him grow into the real hero stuff - but that takes time, and he's still working on leaving behind his stupid playboy persona.
As much as I don't like it, I'm not going to angst over the story putting the characters in that place right now, but much of the fandom seems to be hung up on how the whole situation afftects Felicity. As in, there must be dozens of fics where she acts all hurt and traumatised, because how dare Oliver be with someone other than her. And it pisses me off, because that idea is derived from two very troubling and completely incorrect points.
One, that Felicity is just pining away, waiting for Oliver to notice her like some lovesick fool, and poor her for the big, bad man stomping all over her delicate lady feelings. Okay, no - while I think that whatever there is between Oliver and Felicity isn't completely platonic, and she's definitely attracted to him, neither of them are in love with each other, and while the potential is undeniable, it will be a long time before they get to the point where a relationship would actually work between them. What I think the show actually got right was how it later focussed on Felicity feeling left out of the team, rather than left out of Oliver's life. There was a lot of crap in the Clock King episode, but that part worked.
And two, that assuming Felicity is pining, that it becomes Oliver's fault. This point actually draws on something you linked in a post a while back, about Boyle's inappropriate stalkerish tendencies towards Diaz, and how wrong it was for him to make her responsible for his feelings, and that really struck a chord with me. Because Oliver can be an inconsiderate jerk with a one-track mind, but he'd never deliberately hurt someone he cares about (unless it was to keep them safe by forcing them to keep their distance from him.)
Those ideas keep showing up in the fandom on repeat, and it's pathetic, because it shows how little fans seem to understand either of their characters. Right now, I could get behind the idea of Felicity with someone else - if the show managed to portray the relationship as genuine, rather than presenting the guy as a stand-in until Oliver gets his act together.
Personally, I'm more frustrated with the show than with the fandom right now (probably because I'm not paying any attention to either, so).

One of my biggest frustrations with the show is the way that Oliver is fucking every woman in sight and Felicity isn't allowed to even kiss her ONE requited love interest.
Barry was scheduled to return for a single episode towards the end of the season, though I don't know if that's contingent upon whether or not they get the go ahead for the Flash series.
Most of the reason I'm wary of Felicity getting a proper love interest - one who will stick around - is that I'm not convinced the show will play it right. She doesn't need another geek - a tech-savvy guy who is basically a male version of herself - and she definitely shouldn't be subjected to someone who's basically and "Oliver-lite" character, as in, a wealthy young businessman who just happens to show up and pay attention to Felicity.
For all his faults, Oliver's dynamic with Felicity has always been one of the best aspects of his character. He doesn't care that she's a geek, or socially awkward, or has a tendency to say embarrassing things. He's amused by her but never spiteful about it, and he has a lot of respect for her, and for all that he doesn't always show it, he does appreciate her. It's why they'd actually work as a couple if they ever got to that point, so it would be incredibly difficult to give a fair portrayal of a believable love interest for Felicity, because that person would have to fulfil all those qualities too, without it seeming like he's completely taking over Oliver's place in her life.
Honestly, I JUST WANT FELICITY TO GET SOME FROM SOME HOT DUDE. MULTIPLE HOT DUDES. MAYBE SOME HOT LADIES.

I didn't really like the two of them together, though. Sure, it was good to see someone paying attention to Felicity, but they were wrong for so many reasons. It was such a cliché dumping the geeks together, and there was no potential for longevity with the two of them in different cities (on different shows) - and I never really felt they had much chemistry.
