Drive By Fannish Update

 Likely everyone else, I am greatly enjoying Ted Lasso. I know Rebecca/Sam cannot end well... but I also very much want it to end well.

I binge-read the A Court Of Thorns & Roses which has some major flaws but is also perfect for what it is (if you want an escapist fantasy where you get to be heroic and wear pretty dresses and everyone is handsome and a least half in love with you, check it out. I mean... skimm through the middle chunk of ACOTAR but after that it really gets enjoyable. And I appreciate the unprecedented hard left turn the author took in the beginning of the second book).

Other than that, I'm trying to wait out tiktok- I feel like that is where most of the fannish conversations are happening and I am NOT cool with a video medium. Can we PLEASE go back to a decent text platform?)

There’s a fandom on TikTok? Maybe it depends on which fandom, because I was blissfully unaware. XD I’m suddenly rather glad mine are still mostly happening on discord and twitter, with a side on tumblr and DW.

Yep. Plus side I have gotten some great book recs, down side is that it's impossible to have an actual conversation on there and I don't want to learn how to film/have my face public.

...so are these fandom specific discords or general fandom?

Yeah I can imagine that convos on there are nigh impossible. And the vid part is a huge turn of for me too. Smth to just consume, for me. Where do you find those book recs though? Always into those.

Honestly, start scrolling through the #booktok tag and/or search for the name of a book you like (especially a popular one) and try and get the algorithm working for you.
