Blood was always red.

Colors faded first, bleaching away until everything was shades of soot, grimy and monochromatic.

Dirty, ashy white. Dark, bruise blue. Black.

Uchiha colors.

And blood was always red, as his sight retroactively tainted his memories, until he couldn't recall the warm yellow that were the Uchiha kitchen walls, the fresh green on the leaves in Konoha, the bright, untainted silver of his ANBU blade.

Blood was always red, pooling beneath his parents, splattering Sasuke's body like the frantic kisses of a lover.

Blood was always red, splattering from between his lips as he coughed, a scarlet clock that told him that his weak, pathetic, hateless little brother had a time limit on his revenge.
