I've decided I want a funny writing icon.

Suggestions?

I know several people on my flist have them. What are you favorites?

Have you seen Princess Tutu? (And if you haven't, you should. The whole thing is meta on storytelling and the main character is cast as a Token Female in the fairy tale the world is set in, but instead of pining away and dying like she's supposed to, she becomes the heroine, saves the prince, and breaks every rule the author creates to make her own story.)

Anyway, it provides a lot of fodder for sriting icons, which the fandom jumped all over.

Oh, nice. Princess Tutu is actually one my to-watch list. I've only heard good things about it.

As a fair warning, the first few episodes might make you twitch. The artwork is amazingly twee, and it's initially set up to look like your typical saccharine pure and angelic magical girl crushing on the handsome bland prince who's dating the beautiful rich girl, and the prince's mean best friend keeps getting in her way, but it soon moves so far past that setup that you kick yourself for letting that hold you back.

Here's an award winning MV that supposedly has the power to seduce anyone to watch it:

*it is possibly my favorite anime at this point*

Umm, yeah, I think that amv does have magic powers.

It turns ballet into fast paced action. Which is fitting, as each ep is structured around a ballet and a popular fairy tale.

REALLY? Each episode is about a fairy tale? Hot damn I have to watch this show.

There are strong fairy tale and fairy tale (and like) based ballets themes running throughout. The strongest ones from beginning to end are The Ugly Duckling and Swan Lake(why UD will be obvious in the first ep, SL elements are there from the start, but not really obvious for a few eps.) Each ep in either the first or last half (or maybe both...I can't remember which off the top of my head...I think the first half) opens with a narrated version of a well known or lesser known fairy tale, with a "what if" at the end, and then the actual episode's adventure is based on a ballet, with elements of the fairy tale mixed in.

It goes into extreme fairytale and storytelling deconstruction and meta, but any more than I've said is really, really spoilery.
