But is ljarchive the tool that allows one to download your livejournal as a pdf? And if not, what tool/site it that?

It's not a PDF. It uses it's own file format.

LJ-Archive (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/#item3rd-1)

If you do more than one journal or community, you'll need to save them to separate folders because it will overwrite the ones you've already done.
