Yeah, that's one of my issues with the Shounen genre, it's pretty formulaic with the fight/train/fight plots. I wish that they would just SLOW DOWN and leave the characters at that disadvantage against the bad guys. And that was one of the things I liked about the Bount arc in the Bleach anime is that Ichigo wasn't able to call his bankai early on. A little OBVIOUS but it was still a major limitation.
I dunno...With me it's the personality of the characters that matters, especially in a genre where nearly everything else follows the same 'power-up' plot-lines. My opinion is that your character can be as hella strong as you want, but if they have decent characterization to back it up, then I can deal with it.
*snorts* I love that icon. I ganked it at "Captain Tuberculosis". I like yours too (Especially after that chapter before last. Grrr. Is it just me or is he using this attack as an opportunity to blatantly kill off all of the older/mentor characters?)! Oh, and I love the idea of Sakura getting his Sharingan...although it's unlikely that Kishimoto would take that route. It almost seems too cool and dramatic for him.
