The boy would be softer-spoken and the girl would take after her father and get in lots of fights, especially when people tease her about her scales (cause she's a water youkai, remember).
While they're not related, they spent a large part of their childhood together, and while the boy always knew he loved her In That Way, she takes more getting used to it, simply because he's her other half, and if she screwed up their relationship... it would just hurt too much.
When Yaone goes out of town, she leaves plenty of money for the kids to buy pizza, so that they don't ever have to eat Gojyo's everything in the fridge ramen.
