Oh, man, I love Naruto in pain! That shot with his fingers scrabbling in the dirt? Awesomecakes.

And I am THRILLED that Pain is being an effective villain. I mean, he has a point (FINALLY!) Naruto's justice is just as just as Pain's, but Pain's is just as just as Naruto's.

Also, did anyone else notice how things Pain has destroyed goes: Jiraiya (provably dead), Kakashi (?), friends (provably alive, all of them, god damnit.)

I really enjoyed the Jiraiya cameo.

Was the in-between flashback of when Nagato first killed those men to save Yahiko?

But where the hell is Sakura?!?!?!?!?!!?

I loved the mindfuck-no-jutsu...Pain and Naruto's dialogue was actually really compelling for once.

Sakura should be showing up soon methinks...I really want to read her and Tsunade's reaction to Shizune's death.

I'm thinking the flashback is the birth of 'Pain' or the death of Yahiko...I'll have to look at it again but there seemed to be three bodies on the ground that were all adults...

I loved this too. I also am awaiting Sakura and Tsunade's reaction! And confirmation about Kakashi! (What happened there? We've been left hanging for way too long! Think there will be other cameos featuring the dead folks? XD)

I'm just glad that Pain is coming full circle as to be an effective villian, as you just said, after dealing with chapter after chapter of him saying "Pain, pain, pain, pain, and MORE PAIN!"

Sakura better show up and save her BFF. Do you really think she'll just stand there and see Naruto being stabbed in the hands? I don't think so.

I suspect the in-flashback was Nagato's dead family. I see a few adults and one child leaning over one of them, and they all have black Nagato-esque looking hair.

He was particularly creepy in the fact he knew people would die and he knew it wouldn't last, but that was all worth it for the short time of peace.

I wouldn't quite go so far as to say epic win, but it's at least actually believable that someone who become fanatic about this idea, which is more than I can say for SO MANY villains plans.
