-the finale was okay but not great - this is a show I tend to watch when I only need to give it half my attention, and I get antsy when I don't have laundry to fold or a bed to make and its on.

-I agree with who-ever was talking about the defanging of the cylons being a problem. It's like, 'we give you resurrection and you leave us alone forever' - well, why the frack couldn't you have agreed to this two seasons ago and had a lot less dead people?

-I liked Boomer dying. I used to like her but she sure as hell had it coming.

-I also liked the mirroring of the opera scene, even with my intense apathy to anything involving Baltar

-I enjoyed seeing Tori getting strangled.

-I am not thrilled with the anti-tech spiel at the end. Oh, Lee.

-also, all this burning of ships bridges made me twitchy.

-Poor Lee, everyone going off and leaving.

Well, overall, I'm underwhelmed.

Personally, I don't know how to feel about it. There were some things I REALLY liked and some things I felt were a let-down after the epic space-battle on top of the Cylon Colony. I agree with the whole "we must abandon our technology and live like Amish people" thing. Although I thought Lee was adorable towards the end, getting all excited and boyish about exploring. And I liked the angels in the forms of Six and Baltar, it added that grand feeling that I felt the series needed to leave off on.

Although, is it just me or is it kinda funny that both Roslin and Starbuck died/moved on while the Adama men were talking to them?

What were some of the things your really liked?

Lee was adorable, talking about exploring and such. the_sun_is_up talked about how Lee and Kara function best during war but would tear each other apart during peace, but I think a new planet to explore could have offered them enough adventure to keep it together.

And the image of 6 and Baltar among us WAS pretty epic.

Although, is it just me or is it kinda funny that both Roslin and Starbuck died/moved on while the Adama men were talking to them?

Well, it makes a lot of sense. Honestly, what surprised me was that Adama DIDN'T crash the shuttle after Roslin died - I really thought that's what they were leading up to. Because otherwise, telling your son 'I'm never going to see you again' to live with your girlfriend's ghost... seems kinda cruel.

What I really liked was the space battle on the Cylon colony. It was just so hopeless, there was NO way they should have been able to do it and they won anyway. Impossible situations like that are always a way to win me over. And I also really liked Baltar staying to fight. He'd just been such a sneaky bastard through the entirety of the series and I liked that move of heroics, even though I feel it was just to prove a point to Lee. Another thing I really liked was Starbuck putting the coordinates into the ship at the Last Moment, and leading them to earth.

One thing I felt was kind of a let down was this whole idea that she was the "harbinger of the apocolypse". That element of the story wasn't wrapped up well enough for me.

That would have been much more tragic of Adama had crashed the shuttle. To be perfectly honest I've suspected since I first started watching that EVERYBODY was going to die at the end. They might save the human race, but I always suspected all of them would die tragically. The happy ending was a bit of a 180 from my expectations.

*nods* Yep the battle on colony was excellent.

That honestly would have made a lot of sense. Frankly, I was a bit disappointed that MORE people didn't die, frankly (which is shocking coming from me).

Another thing I liked during the colony attack was the dialogue between Boomer, Athena, and Starbuck.

B: You won't be able to get out the way you came.

A: That's not the plan.

S: Please, don't tell her the plan.

Yeah, it seems everyone who died tragically did so during the course of the series. I can understand it being a bit of a disappointment. The entire series has been one tragedy after another...it would have made more sense if a lot of people had died in the colony attack. Then again, I suppose they deserved a happy ending to an extent.

Here's my question to you, if you had written it, how would it have ended? Angsty? Happy? Bolshevik Muppet-everything-blows-up-ending?

That was a great snippet of dialogue.

Okay, so I didn't watch most of season 3 and 4, so I might be missing huge plot points, but things I would have liked to have seen:

-Roslin dying with Galactica. For example, I loved when she fainted as Galatica got damaged - plus, it's nicely brutal on Adama

-no flashbacks during the finale

-I liked what happened during the rescue of Hera, but the whole 'let's be friends and go our different ways with Cavil wouldn't have happened.

- The colonials would have kept their tech when they landed on earth - maybe they build one of those ancient buildings some people always say aliens did

-Lee and Kara end up in the same place with an amigiously shippy ending, with senior Adama

-The chief dies, possibly Tigh dies, Boomer still dies (her death scene was awesome.)
